About Deopani Durga Temple
Nestled in the lush green hills of Karbi Anglong, and amidst tea gardens, the Deopani Durga Mandir is less than an hour’s drive from Golaghat, a District Headquarter, and an hour’s drive from Dimapur via Bokajan. A great Indian Rubber Tree adds to its ambiance and you feel the positive energy when entering the sprawling temple compound. Most importantly, it’s a temple which devotees from distant places revisit every year professing great faith at the benevolence of Ma Durga, leading to 90k footfalls during Durga Puja Festival alone. In fact, how the temple started is a mesmerizing story.
Religious Services
The daily worship ritual consisting of bathing, dressing up, feeding, and chanting of holy mantras of Maa Durga is performed by Roy Family thru designated purohits. Lucky visitors and devotees sometimes get the experience of enjoying ‘bhog’ and visuals of ‘aarti’ performed daily before the doors of sancto-sanctrum are closed. Devotees and visitors perform darshan and offer Prashad physically but because of the pandemic of COVID-19 and the ensuing situation, thereof Temple Management has introduced online puja which can be accessed by clicking the link below.
NOTICE
PROCEDURE FOR DARSHAN:
- Maintenance of Social Distancing – a distance of 3 ½ feet from the other person
- Wearing of Mask compulsory
- Adequate facility to wash hands by soap & water
- Adequate provision of hand sanitizer
- No devotee would be allowed inside the sancto-sanctrum
- Darshan will be allowed from the Courtyard limited by time of one minute and batches of six only
- No live Prashad will be allowed as offering
